Apple announces two new iPhones and a new iOS.

Well I am a couple of days late but believe I should make mention of the new product announcements on Tuesday from Apple. Two new iPhone models arrive. The iPhone 5s which boasts a fingerprint reader so that you can tap the home button and let it read your fingerprint(after you register it) instead of needing a password to get past the Lock screen. Also an improved camera. Better pictures with better low light sensitivity. A slow motion video mode. And a better flash for warmer less washed out flash pictures. Improved auto-focus. Also new burst mode helps eliminate out of focus due to the subject moving (boy I need that for my grand-kids). All this makes for compelling reasons to think about making the upgrade. Check it out at the following YouTube link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-ppMRFcDWk.

Apple also announces the 5c. A new model where the c stands for color. It could also stand for China and cheaper. The iPhone needs to improve sales in China where its price point has not been looked on favorably. When bought from Apple without a phone contract it will not be that much cheaper but once the wireless providers bundle it with a plan it should in fact be significantly cheaper. It also has a seamless plastic case that comes in five vibrant colors. Last it has an improved front HD cam which should make for sharper video via Face-time. The last item is the upgrade to the iOS. A new version of the operating system has been announced with a release date of Wednesday September 18th.  The look has been completely redone. The icons are more two dimensional but more colorful. Not sure I like that trade off. I do however like the 5 apps that Apple is including for free. iMovie, iPhoto, Pages, Keynote, and Numbers. Incredible apps especially on the iPad. Pages (word-processing), Numbers (spreadsheet), and Keynote (presentations) are optimized for gesture based interaction. They are slick and create terrific product.  Add to that a new advertising supported music streaming service through iTunes and that packs a real wallop. Apple also promises that they have improved their much criticized map program. The camera app has been reworked and now includes photo filters and video zooming while shooting. iOS 7 will work on phones purchased since 2010. So with that being said I am looking forward to next Wednesday big time. See ya later.
