Continuing with using Outlook’s Task feature to more effectively manage projects with them lets look at the Task information forms.
Task Information is entered when you create or edit a Task on the Task form. You enter The Subject, Start, and Due dates. Then can increase the level of detail by entering Status, Priority, and % Complete.
You can add even more detailed information by clicking the Details button in the Manage Tasks group on the ribbon. This lets you use Tasks in a more Project oriented way. Here is the screen from the task tab choose the Details button. Enter Date completed, Total work hours, Actual work hours, Mileage and Billing Information.
That starts to move us more in the direction of actually using Tasks in Outlook for project management. In our next installment we will look at assigning tasks to others and generating some reports with this under-valued feature of Outlook
