Outlook 2010

Let’s Talk Tasks

As I had said in an earlier post, I have been getting a 1 hour 15 minute class ready to talk about Outlook’s Task feature. So I thought I would do a series of posts on creating and using tasks.

There are two basic kind of tasks. The first is created by taking something like an email and while it is selected assigning a Followup Flag to it. That will put it on your To-Do list in the Task navigation pane on the right side of the Outlook window. You will also see them in the Task window by clicking the Task icon in the navigation pane on the left side of the screen.

The second kind of task is created by clicking the Task icon in the left hand navigation pane then selecting the New Task button from the Ribbon, and filling out the form.

Tuesday we will talk about other ways to create our second kind of task in Outlook. Tasks are useful and a very powerful way to manage your projects.
